On April 1, 1977, five grassroots organizations – focused on affordable housing creation and preservation, community facilities, transit access, and open space access – came together and created the Chinatown Community Development Center. Over the years, Chinatown CDC has become a leader in the areas of community planning and empowerment, youth leadership development, and housing and related services for low income San Franciscans, with particular focus on Chinatown. Our work is focused on the following program areas:
- Tenant Organizing and empowerment
- Neighborhood Planning
- Youth Programs
- Affordable Housing Development, Resident Services and Property Management
